Why are unions on the decline?

Union's are standing in small groups holding hands trying to figure out why they are loosing membership and why the young have no interest in their "cause". Here's a news piece that is one small bit of the reason:

In the United States union finaincials are available for revue, so at least they get caught doing it.

Check it out, intimidation, coercion, punching, death threats, "he's got a gun!" being shouted... Back to the question: "Why Are Unions On The Decline"... I cannot imagine...
